Apparently, Nissan has some determined salesmen, one in particular having sold the incredible number of 100,000 cars. We’re talking about a 67 year-old man, the company’s superman salesman that has dedicated 52 years of his life to this brand, now finally retiring.
Ken Searle, a grandfather of five, first started putting his sales skills to use by selling British Leyland models, afterwards moved to Addison Motors in Byker and finally came to sell Datsun-Nissan’s forerunner, saying that Datsun “ were superb then.” Still, his all-time favorite Nissan model was a luxurious sedan, the QX, stating that it was a fantastic car that “just sold itself.”

Yes, he was one of those that actually loved what he did for a living, Ken even saying that he “ wouldn’t have changed a thing” about his career. Moreover, the 67 year-old man appears to be really proud of the brand and the fact that the company has managed to grow this much, particularly in the North.

Thus, his dedication to the company lead to him remaining firmly at the helm of the group’s Nissan franchise and receiving recognition for his incredible achievement. We’re talking about a very touching moment when Benfield’s Chief Executive, Mark Squires presented him with a wonderfully crafted Japanese Kokeshi doll on behalf of Nissan UK, plus a specially commissioned caricature from the dealer group and his colleagues.

According to the company, Ken had a massive contribution to the success of the brand, saying that “It’s thanks to people like him though – the great advocates who have stuck with [Nissan] through thick and thin- that [they] now find [themselves] in the fantastic position they’re in today.”
