California-based sportscar and performance-oriented automotive parts manufacturer is developing a new generation of supercars as well as a high-performance electric vehicle, the company revealed earlier this week.
Famous for its aftermarket Ford Mustangs and the S7 supercar, Saleen Automotive is now back under Steve Saleen’s guidance, after a successful merger with SMS Signature Cars. The latter was created in 2008 after Steve Saleen resigned from Saleen Automotive a year earlier.
While working on the next-gen S7 supercar and the all-new high-performance EV, Saleen will continue to offer its familiar range of modified Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger and Chevrolet Camaro models.
"Since 1983, I have been developing some of the world's most advanced high-performance street cars with special aerodynamics, highly functional cockpits, and precise handling suspension," said Chairman and CEO Steve Saleen.
"We are excited to become a publicly-traded company and enter into the next stage of our growth, as we bring these automobiles into the mainstream and grow our retail presence into new markets in the US. We are also developing high-performance electric vehicles targeting the zero-emissions segment,“ he added.
