The upcoming Need For Speed will be packed with loads of fast cars, special effects and tons of road racing footage. It's what people want and it's exactly what people will get.
But to be able to shoot those spectacular high speed scenes, the NFS crew needed nearly equally fast camera cars. And if you were wondering what these cars might be, the latest video released by DreamWorks Pictures shows the hero vehicles that don't get to star on the big screen.
First up is a Ford Mustang GT that has been modified in order for the pony to keep up with supercars such as the Saleen S7 or the Bugatti Veyron on the road. The vehicle gained a Saleen supercharger that enables the 5.0-liter Coyote engine to deliver 625 hp, 3.73 gears and high-performance 14-inch Saleen brakes.
There's also a Mercedes ML-Class SUV, an older-generation Audi A6 and a Ferrari 458. Unfortunately, the video doesn't reveal the enhancements added to these three vehicles, but we bet they were fast enough to record some great chase scenes.
