Renault was one of the first European carmakers to take safety to heart. Just about every model and its mother has a five-star NCAP rating and this obviously helps them in the sales department since they put stickers with five stars on the back windows.
But the Dacia budget-beater sub-brand never followed this trend, as both the Logan sedan and Duster crossover only got three Euro NCAP starts. But new Lodgy MPV will be a different story.
A recent report from Romanian publication Automarket points out that a new law coming by way of the European union says all cars must now come with ESP as standard, and the Lodgy, which will be launched in March 2012, is forced to follow this. As a result, it’s expected to get a four-star crash test rating from the safety body.
