Saab Continues to Offer the OnStar Service in the U.S.

General Motors' OnStar vehicle assistance service will continue to be available on Saab vehicles sold in the U.S., as the Swedish carmaker announced that it has signed an agreement with OnStar to extend their collaboration under its new owner, Spyker Cars.

The service comes as a standard feature on the 9-3 Aero model and the new 9-5 range and offers support for Saab customers using trained advisors. OnStar covers multiple areas in order to provide safe traveling or offer assistance in case of emergency.

OnStar is a critical technology that our customers demand and expect,” said Mike Colleran, President and Chief Operating Officer Saab Cars North America. “With this agreement, we look forward to continuing to deliver exceptional service and support for Saab customers.

The OnStar service includes multiple features, such as the industry-first Automatic Crash Response and monthly Vehicle Diagnostic e-mails. In addition to that, the OnStar Turn-by-Turn navigation is the only embedded vehicle navigation system that offers directions using the vehicle’s audio system, through live support from an advisor. Another useful feature is the Hands-Free Calling, which allows drivers to operate the vehicle’s phone using voice commands, ensuring that they are focused on the road.

I am very pleased that we’re going to be able to continue to provide the safety, security and peace of mind of OnStar to Saab customers,” said Chris Preuss, OnStar president.
