From the weird news chest, we now bring you the following: the Saab 9-5 has been named Car of the Year by a Consumer Guide. To be more specific, the 9-5 Sedan 2.8V6 Turbo has received the title from Wheels Asia in Singapore.
The fact that this is strange has absolutely nothing to do with the 9-5, but it is a bit difficult to understand how a vehicle that belongs to an automaker who is having difficulties standing on its feet can be recommended to the customers.

However, we can’t complain too hard, as we personally want to see Saab get back in the game - it would be such a pity for all those years of tradition to go down the drain.

"We are very happy. The markets in Asia are demanding and Singapore especially so, since it so restrictive when it comes to car imports. Therefore it is particularly gratifying and encouraging that the Saab 9-5 is honored in this way," said Jonas Hernqvist, Saab Regional Manager for the Asian markets.
