Both the Mercedes-Benz S-Class W222 and the E-Class W212 facelift scooped two of the most coveted car magazine awards at the Auto Trophy 2013, hosted by Auto Zeitung.
No less than 103,074 Auto Zeitung readers had to vote for their favorite cars from 400 different models.
The Mercedes-Benz star shined in both the luxury class and the executive class, with the S-Class and E-Class easily surpassing their segment competitors in terms of reader votes.
On top of that, Auto Zeitung also gave Mercedes-Benz the Auto Trophy for the best advertising in the “Classic Remise” in Düsseldorf.
Obviously, the 2014 S-Class W222 received the best-in-class distinction because it has always been seen as the best car in the world and the trend-setter for technological progress in the automotive world.
The recently-facelifted E-Class W212 benefitted from the most expensive mid-cycle refresh in history, with over one billion Euros being invested in the entire E-class range, so it's no wonder that Auto Zeitung readers see it as the best in its segment.
