The Brits from Auto Express have been pretty busy testing AMG cars lately, with two models from Affalterbach being reviewed during the course of last week alone.
After getting their hands on the S-Model version of the E 63 AMG Estate, the next AMG on their agenda was the newly-launched Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG W222 in its rear-wheel drive guise.
As we were mentioning in other articles about this subject, the UK doesn't get the newly-introduced 4Matic all-wheel drive versions of the E 63 and S 63 AMG models, so the much higher power available isn't so brutally felt in performance figures.
The rear-wheel driven version of the S 63 AMG W222, for example, gets from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds compared to the four seconds flat of the 4Matic variant.
On the plus side, the Brits get the Magic Body Control system as standard on the AMG S-Class, as the 4Matic versions aren't available with the said suspension technology in other markets. For a more detailed opinion about how the new brutish sedan from Affalterbach drives you should check out the Auto Express Review of the model.
