When the latest iteration of the Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG was launched, some AMG fans gasped in horror while others from amazement.
As many of you know, outside of the SUVs and the models based on the Mercedes-Benz MFA (Modular Front Architecture) platform, there isn't a single AMG model available with 4Matic all-wheel drive in right-hand drive guise.
This includes the new S 63 AMG W222, which comes as standard with 4Matic in the US, optional 4Matic in Europe and rear-wheel drive only in right-hand drive countries such as the UK.
For some this is a blessing, while for others it's a curse, as 585 hp (577 bhp) and 900 Nm (664 lb ft) of torque are way more easily manageable with four contact patches instead of two.
Then again, all-wheel drive - no matter how sporty of a setup AMG has given it - will never allow you to do what can be observed in the following video, where an RHD S 63 AMG is engaging in dorifto fun times with a drift-tuned Nissan 200SX.
