The upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe has been spied numerous times in the past year, but never even once has its AMG version been spotted.
These are the first spyshots of a still very camouflaged pre-production prototype of the 63 AMG torque monster.

Speaking of torque, the S 63 AMG Coupe will share the 900 Nm (664 lb ft) and the 585 hp of its sedan brother, but the performance numbers should be up a bit thanks to a slightly lower weight. We are expecting a 4.3 seconds time from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) for the rear-wheel drive version and an outstanding 3.9 seconds for the 4Matic, both sharing the latest evolution of the M157 5.5-liter V8 engine.

Even though the model captured by our spy photographers is wearing almost as much camouflage as its lesser-engined brothers caught in the last few months, we know that the model will keep at least 90% of the lines found on the gorgeous Concept S-Class Coupe.

The S 63 AMG Coupe is expected to be launched a few months after its “regular” s-Class Coupe version, which will be shown for the first time at the North American Auto Show in January 2014. The Geneva Motor Show in March 2014 would be our guess for the AMG V8, with the 65 AMG V12 most likely to be shown at the same time.
