The W222 generation of the Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG is different from its predecessor in many ways. So many ways, actually, that almost every review of it we have read or watched so far seems to paint the model in an entirely new color compared to the W221.
AutoBlog, for example, is the latest automotive publication to give the new AMG leviathan a review, and the overall tone of it is that the car is drastically changed from its predecessor.
You'd realize the new S 63 AMG would be different just by looking at the specs, but the entire performance delivery is from a different league.
Since AutoBlog are from the US and the new AMG flagship sedan will be available with all-wheel drive only in the land of the free, the yanks decided to test the S 63 AMG 4Matic.
Powered by a twin-turbocharged M157 V8, with 585 hp (577 bhp) and a staggering 900 Nm (664 lb ft) of torque, the model can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standing start in just four seconds officially.
Like other media publications which have tested it, AutoBlog thinks the 0 to 60 mph time will be of just 3.5 seconds, but that remains to be seen after someone actually tests the car with proper measuring equipment. Until then, check out AutoBlog's first drive review of the S 63 AMG W222.
