There’s a lot of great things about being Rusty Wallace, a NASCAR Sprint Cup champion and NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee. He gets to test for Penske although he’s no longer racing and he gets to possess his own Ford Fusion racer.
We’re talking about the NASCAR spec 2013 Ford Fusion that just crossed the block during Barrett-Jackson’s famed Scottsdale auction this weekend, fetching a cool $180.000. Not bad for an oval track gulper with a 427 cubic inch engine built by Roush Yates under the hood, eh? That means 900 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque!
All proceeds from the sale will benefit the NASCAR Foundation. The lucky new owner is Ron Pratte, an American businessman and car collector.
As a brief reminder, six NASCAR teams fielded Ford Fusions in last year’s Sprint Cup series, including Penske Racing, Richard Petty Motorsports and Roush Fenway Racing.
