Travel by bus at night? Good. One day you might stumble upon what is probably the best public transportation in the world. Dubbed BarBus Maxi, it’s the creation of Russian entrepreneurs from St. Petersburg who thought the party shouldn’t stop to one place. Why not transit through the music while you’re pub crawling?
“Your lights are on, but you’re not home/ Your mind is not your own/ Your heart seats, your body shakes/ Another kiss is what it takes/ You can’t sleep, you can’t eat/ There’s no doubt, you’re in deep”
Right. It’s not that we’re getting ready for the weekend, nor are we Robert Palmer suddenly, but this could easily make for the song you’d hear in the crazy bus.
We’re talking about an unique night club complete with a dance floor, lounge, fully stocked bar and even a toilet. Everything was built in a transformed old bus. The retro Ikarus 280 public transportation vehicle was completely took apart, having left only its initial frame.
The BarBus Maxi travels the streets of the Russian city every night, picking up its customers along the way and entertaining them until the next stop. The bus is also for rent, just in case you’re planning a weird bachelor party of some sort. You’ll pay between 5,000 and 9,000 rubles ($120 to $214), depending on the number of hours and the day of the week but we think it’s totally worth it.

The Russian entrepreneurs covered the exterior with a film of black-and-white images of pin-up models and urban landscapes of London and New York, while the interiors were designed with a sort of pop-art theme. We’re talking about professional lighting, leather sofas with high backs, televisions, a smoke machine, air conditioners and mirrored lighting. There’s also a couple of vintage wall phones and even a DJing equipment. The BarBus Maxi travels the streets of the Russian city every night, picking up its customers along the way and entertaining them until the next stop.
