Wearing little blocks of white foam to protect the freshly painted bodywork, these are the very first production models of the new Nissan Terrano for the Russian market.
The model was first revealed in India and is basically just a Dacia/Renault Duster with different headlights, taillights and bumpers. However, thanks to these photos we've learned that high-end versions will have a multimedia navigation system with rear view camera. It's not the Renault R link and looks like an aftermarket system. All of the Terrarno sold in Russia are to be built at the Avtoframos factory near Moscow.

Details are limited, but sales are rumored to start this summer, with prices to start somewhere around 550,000 rubles (€11,200 or $15,400).

Engines options for the Russian market Nissan SUV remain unknown. We do, however, know the Indian version gets a 1.6-liter base engine with 104 PS and 145 Nm, plus two versions of Renault-Nissan's tried and tested 1.5 diesel, rated at 85 or 110 PS, the latter being equipped with a 6-speed instead of a 5-speed.

This is likely not what we see in the photos, since the SUV is an automatic. The sister model from Renault is sold in Russia with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine making 135 hp. That's the only version to be fitted with a 4-speed automatic, either as a 4x2 or 4x4.

Founded in 1998, Avtoframos is one of the biggest car factories in the country, with 2,300 people working near Moscow. Its name is derived from Avto (auto), France and Moscow. It assembles the Renault Logan, Sandero and since 2011 the Duster as well.
