We all know how bad things can get in traffic in Russia, but this incident beats them all. Police in the Black Sea resort of Sochi have arrested a man after he reportedly has severely beaten a paramedic. The man was attacked after he asked the bully’s wife to move her car away from the path as it was blocking the way of an ambulance.
And when you think people would know emergency vehicles have priority in traffic...

This is a very good example of an “Only in Russia” type of situations. People, would you please understand violence will only bring more violence?

Regional Governor Alexander Tkachyov, who called the case “outrageous”, said the paramedic has been hospitalized in an intensive care unit. The ambulance was doing exactly what emergency vehicles do, which is transporting an emergency patient to a hospital, when things got really wrong. The crew found they couldn't drive forward because their path was blocked by another car.

The female driver called her husband

According to a spokesperson for the Health Ministry branch in the Krasnodat region, which includes Sochi, when asked to clear the way, the woman driver refused crudely and cynically. Eventually, some of the man’s colleagues came outside to join the paramedic in trying to persuade the woman to move her car, but none of the appeals seemed to work.

Not only did she not move the car, but the driver complained to her husband, who arrived at the ambulance station together with a friend, called the paramedic out for a chat and started beating him up. According to The Moscow Times, the victim suffered brain injuries, including a subarachnoid hemorrhage and is still hospitalized. The attacker was detained for questioning.
