Russian Football Team Builds Gigantic Lamborghini Gallardo Statue

The Bible says we shouldn't build false idols. When that famous piece of literature was written, there was a wee problem with gigantic gold statues of divinities, but I don't think God would approve of a 25-meter statue of a Lamborghini Gallardo either.

The same company that mass-produced el Diablo also fabricated thousands of supercars called "Gallardo" until 2013. This V10 machine is probably the most successful car of its era, but not even Lamborghini had the stones to make a giant statue.

Russia's FC Anzhi celebrates its return to the Premier League by unveiling a gigantic supercar. The club's poorly written English blog suggests they also want their 15 minutes of fame by getting into the Guinness Book of World Records.

We honestly don't know what record they're aiming for, though it could be that of the Dodge Power Wagon owned by billionaire Sheikh Hamad of the UAE.

The statue of the Gallardo is said to measure 25 meters in length, 7 meters in height and 11 meters in width (82/22/36 feet). There isn't a single video anywhere on the Internet, which is surprising considering the audacity of this creation. Is this considered too common and mainstream in Russia?

While weird, we have to admit FC Anji's creation is a very accurate depiction of the Gallardo, right down to the shape of the exhaust. The headlights and taillights have been left uncovered, which leads us to believe they will become functional fixtures.

FC Anzhi is based in the town of Makhachkala and was bought by billionaire Suleyman Kerimov. A few years back, he shocked the football world when he started pumping large sums and purchased major players like Roberto Carlos and Samuel Eto'o. However, almost all the big players were sold when Kerimov shrunk the budget in 2013.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
