Rumour: Porsche Developing 911 GT3 RS Limited Edition

One of the finest chapters in the automotive world is the one dedicated to special editions. These bring benefits for both the customers, who get an aura of exclusivity and the companies that produce them, which only need to make minor investments for their developments.

In the recent years, the supercar segment has seen an explosion of supercars, with the Lamborghini Gallardo being one the models that takes a top positions on the list of cars with a multitude of exclusive incarnations.

However, it seems that the Porsche 911 wants to have its name featured in the special editions hall of fame. The latest info regarding the rear-engined vehicle is that its GT3 RS version will get a limited edition that will take its dynamics one step further.

We are talking about rumor indicating that Porsche is working on a 500 hp 4.0 liter upgraded version of the GT3 RS.

The GT3 RS is a naturally aspirated beast that comes with more power, less weight, shorter gear ratios and a tweaked chassis, compared to the 911 GT3, being close to the racing incarnations of the 911.

The information was posted on the Teamspeed forums, but no other details were offered. If this proves to be true, the new vehicle would be placed between the GT3 RS and the recently-introduced GT2 RS (this is just one way of presenting things, as the GT2 RS is playing in a different league - it uses turbocharging).

It is said that the German automotive producer will only allow 500 mortals to enjoy the charms of the upcoming special edition.
