RUF Rt12 S Details Released

The Pfaffenhausen based German car builder RUF today released details of their new Porsche 911 based Rt12 S sports car, "the new dimension of driving pleasure" as they call it. Behind that hard to pronounce name, RUF hid Porsche's refined biturbo boxer engine, developing a humongous 685 hp and 880 Nm of torque.

Although acceleration details have not been provided, RUF says the car's aerodynamics have been tweaked to sustain speeds of up to 360 km/h (224 mph), so we can imagine the Rt12 packs a hell of a G-force punch.

Of course, if you ever get to travel that fast, you'd have to take protection measures other than the ones seen in your everyday Porsche. RUF integrated a roll cage in the ceiling and also provides sport seats and a steering wheel with maximum grip, so that you don't start flying inside the car while navigating those Autobahn curves.

RUF's exterior kit is comprised of carbon rear spoiler with tearing edge, air ducts fitted in the widened rear fenders and RUF CTR3 exterior mirrors. Forged 19-inch light alloy wheels in both the front and in the rear get spun like hell at those high speeds.

Also on the outside of the car, RUF provides separate LED alternative lamps for the position light and the turn signals. RUF is open to suggestions, as it can provide on demand varnish, aluminum or carbon applications.

As for the price, the Rt12 does not come cheap. Available with either rear or four wheel drive, the Rt12 starts at 255,900 euro, VAT excluded.
