As announced back in December when the 2015 Mustang was unveiled, Ford’s brand new pony will be offered in ten different exterior colors in its first year on the market.
While some of those colors are being carried over from the 2014 model year, others, including Magnetic, Guard and Ruby Red, are brand new. Unlike the first two colors, Ruby Red has yet to make an appearance on the sixth-generation pony, with this rendering being the closest thing we found.

But that changed today thanks to DailyDerbi’s Chance Hales, who spotted a Ruby Red 2015 Mustang GT in Utah. The musclecar was sitting quietly on a platform, while waiting to be hauled to a commercial shoot, the source adds.

“The paint just explodes off the car in sunset light revealing some nice orange flake,” Chance says about the Ruby Red paint. Sure, the hue looks appealing through a camera lens as well, but now we’re just dying to see it up close.

Scheduled to hit dealerships in the fourth quarter of the year, the 2015 Mustang will become available in nine more exterior colors: Race Red, Competition Orange, Triple Yellow, Deep Impact Blue, Black, Magnetic, Guard, Ingot Silver and Oxford White.

Pricing for the musclecar has yet to be announced, and were still waiting for the official power figures for the three engines that will be offered. According to Ford, the base 3.7-liter V6 will generate at least 300 hp and 270 lb-ft, the 2.3-liter EcoBoost will deliver more than 305 hp and 300 lb-ft, while the Coyote V8 will produce more than 420 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque.

But until the regular sixth-gen Mustang hits the street, make sure you stick around for the New York Auto Show, where Ford is rumored to introduce the 50th Anniversary ‘Stang.

Meanwhile, head over to DailyDerbi for more photos of the 2015 Mustang in Ruby Red.
