"Royal Pony Express" Ford Mustang by Forgiato Has Oversized Wheels

Do the wheels on this Ford Mustang seem to big to you? They are, but not by the standards of Forgiato, a company that's known for putting 30+ inch alloys on everything, especially if it's America.

Obviously, you can't put new wheels on a shiny Mustang, take some photos and reveal it to the internet. No, you need a theme and something quirky to write a press release about.

This time, the guys at Forgiato have taken to Google to find out the color of royalty, which is purple. We've always thought it was blue, hence the expression "blue blood" based on the fact that people though Kings didn't have the same color blood as they did.

But then again, no prince or king ever had a Ford Mustang... except for the King of Rock and Roll or the Artist Formally Known as Prince. After that, Forgiato just went off on a little tangent about how tragic it was when Ford decided to retire the 302 cubic inch pushrod small-block V8 in the fourth generation Stang.

Now the 4.6-liter is a distant memory and the 5.0 badge is on the side of the car, thanks to the all-new Coyote series of V8. They've even gone all European on us, adopting things like an independent rear suspension system and a 2.3-liter turbocharged engine that you can tune.

But when gas is cheap and V8 engines sound better than anything else you can buy for under $40,000, The Mustang 5.0 is unbeatable. To spruce up this particular royal pony car, Forgiato made sure to install some awesome 3-piece wheels, which have a brushed aluminum look for the spokes and body-matching accents on the rims. The only other changes we can spot are dark (probably illegal) tint on the windows.

But when you start off with a pony car that will do 60 in under 4.5 seconds, you don't need much more. But if you do, we recommend the recent 800 horsepower Hennessey Mustang Shelby GT350.
