Rossi Still Hungry for Victories

Although he secured the title in the Japanese Grand Prix, Valentino Rossi still wants to dominate the end of the 2008 season and aims to win the remaining Sepang and Valencia races. According to autosport.com, Valentino Rossi acknowledged that Casey Stoner will attempt to continue his winning streak but, thanks to the numerous tests conducted during the winter, The Doctor hopes to beat his rivals.

"I am looking forward to going to Malaysia because we have done quite a bit of testing there with Bridgestone so we have a lot of data - not something we have had for most of this season," Rossi explained.

"I was quite strong there in the winter and I hope it's the same again this time, especially since we know a lot more about the tires now".

Valentino Rossi gained plenty of experience on the Sepang circuit as he managed to win no less than three Grands Prix held in Malaysia in 2003, 2004 and 2006 respectively. However, the 2007 edition of this Grand Prix was dominated by Casey Stoner, followed by Marco Melandri.

“I love Malaysia and I have had some great races there in the past, plus it generally suits our bike very well so with any luck we can look forward to a fun weekend. We have two races left and I would really like to try to win them both, plus I also want to keep up Yamaha's excellent podium record this season.”

Jorge Lorenzo, Valentino Rossi's teammate, also aims to give a solid performance in Malaysia and thinks that the past-years experience could help the Yamaha team snatch a good result.

"We've scored decent results over the last four races so I'm optimistic going into the final two rounds of my rookie MotoGP season. We've got a couple of fourth places recently so now I'd like to get back on the podium.”

Rossi has already been crowned the 2008 MotoGP champion, leading the overall world championship standings with a total of 332 points. Second overall is Australia's Casey Stoner with 245 points, while Dani Pedrosa comes in third with 209 points.
