Rosberg Won't Say No to Williams Stay

Although admitting he is already considering the offers of several teams for a 2010 Formula One seat earlier this month, German driver Nico Rosberg reiterated his desire to continue his career alongside Frank Williams. Only days to the Monaco Grand Prix, Rosberg says he feels no pressure to switching to a works' team for the upcoming season.

At the moment I would gladly remain with Williams. And if they continue to give me car like that – and maybe even a little bit better – then I would be happy if I could stay with Williams. It helps to have more money, however it is not the decisive factor. With Williams, if the cooperation fits, we can win with our budget,” admitted the German driver to Swiss publication Motorsport Aktuell.

Less than one week ago, Rosberg stressed the importance of having a race winning car by the end of the season, or else he'll have to revise his plans for the upcoming season. In fact, only the completely new regulations for 2009 have kept Rosberg with Williams for the current season, as he hoped the new package – started from scratch – would give him a better shot at winning F1 races.

However, with only 4.5 points scored in the first 5 races of the season – great pace in practice sessions, though – Rosberg is not at all happy with the performances of the Williams FW31.

Days after announcing new plans for 2009, Rosberg was quickly linked with a move to Woking based team McLaren, backed by German car maker Mercedes. The fact that Merc wants a German driver competing for them in F1 is no news, and Rosberg was previously offered the possibility to join Hamilton at Woking following the departure of Fernando Alonso at the end of 2007.

If leaving the Williams outfit, Rosberg will reportedly be replaced at Grove by new German sensation and current Williams test driver Nico Hulkenberg.
