Rosberg to Chase First Ever F1 Win with Silver Arrows

Brawn GP/Silver Arrows might take a little longer to decide who they want to partner Nico Rosberg in their lineup next season, but the German driver insisted that the team's decision will not influence him in regards to his aim for the 2010 championship. And that's to win race.

After 4 full seasons in the series, during which he planned to become the second member of the Rosberg family to win a race under the guidance of Sir Frank Williams, the German driver now expects to win races for Mercedes-Benz. Although he didn't made any comments regarding his potential involvement in the title race, drinking the winners' champagne is definitely on his list of priorities for next year.

The aim is going to be very high for me. I want to win races at least, and then we'll see. We need to wait a few months to see how the car turns out but I'm confident that we're going to have a strong package,” said Rosberg in an interview with British publication Autosport.

When asked about the prospect of partnering 7-time world champion Michael Schumacher next season, Rosberg kindly declined to answer the question, but hinted that racing against Lewis Hamilton and reigning champion Jenson Button equal-chanced for a race win is a challenge he waits forward to take.

We'll see next year when they are up against each other. I'm not sure. I raced against Lewis, so I can say for sure that Lewis is a great driver and Jenson is a bit more difficult for me to judge but he is certainly a fantastic driver,” added Rosberg.

The team is likely to announce his teammate by Christman, but the most likely chance rests with former BMW racer Nick Heidfeld. Adrian Sutil is also eyed by Ross Brawn for the seat, but the German driver is currently negotiating his stay at Force India with Vijay Mallya.
