Rosberg Confirms Last Race for Williams at Abu Dhabi

The first episode of the Nico Rosberg story has finally come to a conclusion. Following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the German driver will no longer be part of the Grove based team, as he will switch to another team for the upcoming season of Formula One. And that leads us to the second and last episode, whose ending we're yet to discover in the next few days – probably as soon as the race at Yas Marina Circuit ends – namely the team to welcome Rosberg for 2010.

Talking to the reporters at Abu Dhabi about his future in the series, the son of former F1 champion Keke Rosberg admitted that his relationship with Williams will end as of Sunday afternoon. Although admitting it will be an emotional exit from Grove, the German driver said he looks forward to driving a “race-winning car” next year.

It is my last race for Williams. And that is it really. It is a bit strange because for four or five years it is the only team I have worked with, so it has been a long time. I get on with everybody really well, obviously, and a lot of respect has built up - with the mechanics and everyone. So it will be quite strange to leave,” said Rosberg, according to British magazine Autosport.

I can also use this opportunity to thank the team, because all in all I think they have done, for my career, a lot of good. Especially Sir Frank (Williams), Adam Parr, Sam Michael and Patrick (Head), they supported my career all these years. So it is a big thank you to them. I don't want to talk about my future. I just want to say that I won't be at Williams, because that is for sure,” added the German driver.

The only question who's answer everyone will be looking for in the next few days is where Rosberg will actually land next year. Brawn GP seems to have the best chances of inking a deal with the 24-year old, but Mercedes have also hinted that they're looking for a German driver next year. Whether it's for their factory team McLaren or their potentially new organization Brawn GP, we're not sure.
