Ronaldinho Pictured in Car Dirt

We’ve seen a lot of dusty cars in traffic, but some of them are wearing the funny ‘clean me’ text on them. This is certainly not the case of a 50-year-old driver from Texas, America, who has found a more... attractive way to employ all the dirt that existed on the windows of his and his wife’s cars.

Scott Wade used the dirty cars as a canvas for his art, building up an impressive collection that pictures Ronaldinho, Mona Lisa and a portrait of Albert Einstein among others. As you might have guessed, these unusual works of art are making many motorists to stop and admire them.

"Almost everywhere we go, my wife and I get people gathering around our cars to take pictures and ask questions,” said Mr Wade for the telegraph.co.uk. "My wife once stopped at a red light and the people in the car behind her jumped out to take pictures with their camera phones. A guy even blocked me in as I was leaving a car park - he apologised, but asked me to stay there while his daughter went back to the shop to buy a disposable camera."

The process is not that complicated, according to Mr. Wade. Since he is not patient enough to wait for the cars to get dirty in a natural way, the artist applies the dirt himself. In just 10 minutes, he greases the window, and then blows Fuller’s earth onto it by using a hair dryer.

Mr. Wade, who is in fact a graphic designer, said that he started his dirty car art career by drawing doodles in the dust of his car’s windows. He began with funny faces, then with ways of shading, and finally got where he is today. The dirt drawings take him up to four hours, using fingers and an assortment of brushes. However, he says that a serious downpour could destroy it in a minute.
