It wasn’t just the United Arab Emirates that had interesting cars on show at their national day this weekend, though there aren’t any supercars in this story. With pomp and military music, Romania celebrated its national day with the traditional parade, involving the military, fire fighters and police.
But we’re only interested in what the Romanian police had on show, their first batch of new Dacia patrol cars. Six Dacia models in total participated in the parade, all of them brand new models, the Logan II, Sandero II and Dokker van. There was also a Dacia Duster 1.5 dCi involved in the parade.
Both the Logan and Sandero police cars have been equipped with the new 0.9-liter TCe petrol engine. Somehow, the fact that police forces will chase you in three-cylinder cars with 90 hp amuses us a bit, but fuel economy is important when you’re patrolling all day long.
If that doesn’t impress you, we’ll tell you the Romanian police also has a Lotus Evora, a 911 Turbo they got from a drug dealer and plenty of BMW 3-Series 330d.
