Rolls-Royces, Porsches and Others Burn to the Ground in 12-Car Moscow Fire

Alas, it looks like a wealthy Russian car aficionado has learned what can go wrong with putting all your eggs in one basket in a very painful way. The man owned a collection of twelve luxury cars, all of which burned down in a fire that took place at 6:00 local time today.

The dozen prestigious vehicles were all under the same roof and when the structure housing them caught fire, the roof collapsed onto the cars. The list of cars that were destroyed in the incident includes models such as the Rolls-Royce Wraith, Porsche Panamera, Porsche Boxster, Porsche Cayenne, Bentley Continental GT and Mercedes S-Class. Since this is Russia we are talking about, a Mercedes G-Class had to be included.

The firefighters stepped in and eventually manage to put an end to the whole ordeal. Alas, by the time this happened, many of the cars that were inside the structure had already been consumed by the flames. A part of the vehicles burned entirely, with nothing but the compromised metallic structure remaining on the ground after the fire.

The local media reports that an investigation has already started, with the clues potentially pointing towards a criminal act. It appears that all of the vehicles were registered to a construction company.

We are obviously familiar with such unfortunate stories where cars appear and... disappear in more or less legal manners and yet we can’t help but feel sorry when seeing such exquisite four-wheeled creations being killed with fire.

Editor's note: What, no Range Rovers?

Update: we've added a video that shows the machines being eaten by the flames.
