Rolls Royce’s New-Born MINI Debuts at Pebble Beach

MINI has revealed its Rolls-Royce inspired 2012 special-edition Cooper at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California. The limited edition MINI Inspired by Goodwood will have a high end price. It will hit the showrooms at $52,000, including delivery starting this month. Also deliveries will begin in the second quarter of the year.

The limited edition MINI was manufactured in collaboration with the the Rolls-Royce design team in England. Goodwood MINI will be released in 1,000 copies of which only 140 will be available in US. It will include feature like a diamond-black-metallic exterior body finish and 17-inch alloy wheels with an elegant design, at request there can be added a reef-blue metallic color scheme.

Inside the Goodwood MINI, there was added a cornsilk-beige hue which is unique to color schemes offered by Rolls Royce. Also cover materials for everything from the dashboard to carpet surfaces is offered in the same British color. Rolls Royce materials used throughout the interior include Lounge leather interior seating, lamb’s-wool floor mats, a cashmere headliner and a sport steering wheel featuring Walknappa leather and piano-black controls, as related by Automotive News.

MINI had fitted its Goodwood limited edition series with the 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine which was initially manufactured for the MINI Cooper S. The Rolls-Royce inspired Cooper sprints from 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds being helped by its 181 hp. It also offers a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The Goodwood MINI will be released as a 2012-model-year vehicle and will be part of the “MINI Yours” special-edition cars range.
