The long-awaited Rolls-Royce Wraith Coupe, or Fastback if you want, was finally unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
Basically a GT coupe version of the Ghost sedan, the Wraith aims at the Bentley Continental, though it's much more expensive than its English rival, with prices starting from a staggering EUR245,000 ($319,357).
"Today we launch the ultimate gentlemen's gran turismo, a car that embodies the spirit of Charles Stewart Rolls," commented Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. "The most powerful Rolls-Royce in history, Wraith promises the sense of adventure and speed that drove our founding forefather. But of course, Wraith's starting point is luxury, refinement and quality, traits that remain as important to Rolls-Royce customers today as they were more than a century ago."
Powered by a 6.6-liter V12 engine with an output of 624 bhp and 590 pound-feet of torque, Rolls-Royce's new coupe can reach the 62 mph mark from a standing start in just 4.6 seconds. The Wraith also marks the debut of brand-new Satellite Aided Transmission, which uses GPS mapping data to pre-select the correct gear for the road terrain ahead.
The "sumptuous, contemporary and yacht-like" interior cabin is also packed with state-of-the-art technology, such as the "on-board valet" voice activated connectivity, for any kind of data and infotainment related instructions, or the Spirit of Ecstasy Rotary Controller touchpad for those who want to keep it a little more classic.
Rolls-Royce Wraith deliveries will start in Q4 2013.
