Rolls-Royce Won't Move Down Market

Bentley has recently revealed its plans to expand its model range in a direction that means the company will move slightly down market and everybody is know asking if Rolls-Royce is planning the same. The latter company’s CEO, Torsten Müller-Otvos, is determined to make things clear: his brand will not make a similar move.

"Bentley largely occupies another price segment. Our customers don't see our cars as competition [to Bentley]. They buy models of both brands," the CEO was quoted as saying by Automotive News Europe.

However, Rolls-Royce isn’t resting on any laurels, as it too is planning an expansion. However, this will be done by offering multiple derivatives of the Phantom, such as the recently-introduced long wheelbase version you see in the adjacent image.

Fortunately, the scheme doesn’t include oil-burning engines, with a big “No” also set for a production version of the 102EX concept.
