It’s one thing to drive your father’s old-school Mustang to the prom, especially if you want to impress your date. Us, petrolheads, we’ve all been in similar situations before. However, having a chauffeur picking you up in a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, now that is something you’ll remember your entire life.
And that was exactly what Chichester High School for Boys pupil Adam Brombley’s mother, from Emsworth, thought when she asked Global Corporate Communications Manager at Rolls-Royce, Andrew Bell, for a favor. To be honest, it’s not just a random support. In fact, the surprise was meant to bring a smile on the teenager’s face for a change, considering the poor fellow has been going through some tough times recently.

According to Chichester Observer, Adam was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in August 2013 after doctors found a large tumor growing in his chest and into the right atrium of his heart. Following months of intensive and grueling treatment, he finished chemotherapy last summer and recently learned his cancer was in remission.

Adam is an inspirational young man and I had the pleasure of presenting him with the Observer Community Award for Special Achievement on behalf of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars last year. When his mum, Julie, asked if we might be able to surprise him with a chauffeured Rolls-Royce for his prom, we were delighted to provide him with the ultimate car for the occasion,” Ball explained.

As we all imagine, having the luxury car picking you up for prom clearly is more than exciting, but seeing that it was done for a good cause makes it even better. It’s good to observe all these luxury carmakers sometimes find the time to care for those in need, even if that means a simple ride.
