Rolls Royce Takes the Spirit of Ecstasy to Salon Prive 2011

Continuing its Spirit of Ecstasy centenary celebrations, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is readying for this year’s Salon Prive event, set to take place on June 22-24 at Syon Park, West London. The venue played host to more than 100 Rolls-Royce models at the end of a centenary drive through London in February.

Rolls-Royce will return with a stand that includes a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe and Rolls-Royce Ghost.

Rolls-Royce will also present the 102EX, the Phantom Experimental Electric. This prototype test vehicle is powered by the world’s first all-electric drivetrain for the super luxury segment and will make its UK show debut at Salon Prive this year.

As well as modern Rolls-Royce models, heritage will be well represented, with a dedicated class in the Salon Prive Concours d’Elegance. This has already attracted a 1911 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, a 1923 Rolls-Royce Tourer and a rare 1927 Phantom I Udaipur Hunting Car.

“Rolls-Royce is coveted in its modern form, cherished for its heritage and admired for its exclusivity and uncompromising approach to luxury.  Salon Prive has developed to embody each of these aspects and attracts those who appreciate it,”
Salon Prive co-founder David Bagley explains in a statement for the press.

The 2011 Salon Prive comes with three big changes: the three-day celebration of supercars, classic cars and luxury brands relocates to the spectacular 200-acre Syon Park, the London home of His Grace, The 12th Duke of Northumberland and takes place one month earlier than previously, placing it at the centre of the British summer season calendar. This year’s event also incorporates a brand new “Quintessentially English Cars” sale by international collector car specialists, RM Auctions.
