It would seem Rolls-Royce is trying to copy other exclusive manufacturers that have run out of ideas *cough* Bugatti *cough*. Seeing as the world is apparently still unimpressed by their products (don’t curse me just yet) they decided to launch a special run of models called Suhail.
Their bespoke collection is offered for the entire model range, from the Wraith to the new Ghost and the king Phantom (and Phantom Coupe, of course). The name comes from one of the brightest constellations in the sky according to the official press release. We’re not all that good in this area so we’ll take their word for it.
Still quoting the press release we’ll also mention that Suhail’s light apparently inspired Ibn al-Haitham (a 10th century Arabic mathematician, astronomer and physicist) to write the Book of Optics, his most famous creation. However, the term the Goodwood manufacturer chose to justify its creation is rather interesting:
“We felt the Suhail constellation was the perfect inspiration for a very special Bespoke collection to celebrate his influence on Eastern and Western science.” They felt... Interesting. Would we be crazy to say that they actually targeted rich people from the Middle East and that’s why they chose al-Haitham to market their products? Probably.
The unique features introduced as part of the Suhail collection include a Moonstone Pearl exterior paint, Turchese Blue coachline, a Suhail start emblem on the front fender and the luxurious amenities continue inside.
That’s where you’ll also find Creme Light leather seats and Turchese Blue accents along with Ash Burr trims with the usual clock being done in the same Turchese Blue color and the Suhail star being introduced here and there to spice things up.
In the Phantom and Wraith models, however, the most important detail will be the Starlight headliner that mimics the night sky with the aforementioned constellation on it, similar to what we’ve seen on the Celestial Phantom a while back.
Of course, no price tag was released but you can probably imagine that they will be quite expensive, even by Rolls-Royce standards.
