In this technologically oriented age where everything has to work like the iPhone and we like to swap our cars every thee years, Rolls-Royce serves as a breath of fresh air. The Brits still build cars that are supposed to last the lifetime of the owner and make the interiors with methods that would be familiar to 19th century furniture maker.
Their latest project is just what makes Rolls-Royce so good. It’s a one-off called the Ghost Chengdu Golden Sunbird is inspired by an ancient Chinese artifact called the Golden Sun Bird. This artifact belonged to the Shang Dynasty and was discovered in 2001.

The custom Rolls appears to have been built to order for a specific customer and features a very beautiful two-tone paintjob in white and a very dark gold, almost a brass color. The Spirit of Ecstasy is either gold or gold plated and hand-painted pin striping along the side of the car completes the bespoke image.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s.
