Like it or not, a new edition of the opulent, glossy Gumball 3000 event is right around the corner. With just a couple of months to go before the flag drops in Stockholm, Sweden rich car owners are already getting their luxury rides ready for the event. The one in question belongs to Team Goldfinger and it’s a Rolls-Royce that just received the proper (really?) treatment.
We can only hope you’ve found the time to arm yourself with the proper calm to bear with some of the most expensive cars on the planet meeting in one place. Because the time to talk about extreme opulence and sickening abundance breathed in some truly exquisite vehicles has come once again. That’s pretty much how you’d describe the Gumball 3000 rally, which is about to kick off this May.
Team Goldfinger (which represents Steve Goldfield) is one of the veterans racing and judging by their Facebook activity they have no plans to stay home this year. Pictures and short videos with the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe being wrapped over at the famous West Coast Customs auto shop were posted. The obvious is quite harmful to those with delicate eyes.
You might consider us subjective, but there shouldn’t be such things as hundred-thousand-dollars luxury limousines wrapped in gold, even if it were the actual precious metal. On the other hand, Gumball 3000 is exactly about that, standing out, outshining the other fellows participants so we'll have to go with the flow.
As to the event, it’s set to kick off in Stockholm and pass through Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Reno, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and end in Las Vegas. The event is scheduled for 23-30 May.
