Rolls-Royce Ghost More Details Unveiled

The upcoming Rolls-Royce Ghost is going to be a really state-of-the-art model from all points of view. At least, this is what the British luxury car manufacturer says every once in a while, every time it steps in to praise some of the features integrated in the upcoming model. This time the company rolled out some details of the suspension system which, according to a release, will maximize ride comfort.

The Ghost will boast a four corner air suspension system with multi-link aluminum front and rear axles. What's really interesting is that the system is capable to automatically adjust its settings once a rear passenger moves from left to the right (or vice versa) to provide the same level of comfort.

"The Ghost will be as refined and as cosseting as anything that this marque has ever produced. But it will have a dynamic vitality afforded to it due to the latest technology and engineering techniques. These have been bestowed on this car with the same care and attention as the more traditional materials within," Rolls-Royce Motor Cars CEO, Tom Purves, said.

In addition to the advanced suspension system, the Ghost will also feature Active Roll Stabilization and Variable Damping Control also contribute to the impressive comfort the new Rolls is going to provide.

"A Rolls-Royce should be effortless in every way: the way it accelerates, brakes and handles. It should do all of these functions with apparent ease regardless of the complex mechanicals that are working out of sight of the driver and passengers. The driver simply has to point the car in the preferred direction of travel and press the accelerator," Rolls-Royce Engineering Director, Helmut Riedl, explained.

"The individual technologies determining handling and safety work together controlled by dual Integrated Chassis Management systems meaning that even under vigorous testing the Ghost remains perfectly poised. We are very proud of our engineering team's achievements with Ghost. The balance of refinement and dynamic ability is astonishing."
