Up until this year the expression "the Rolls-Royce of SUVs" could only be used figuratively. But the uber-luxury company finally decided to have a slice of the off-roader pie, and it looks like Middle Eastern billionaires aren't the only people who want to play with it.
Posing the question "name a better SUV (if you can)" the Instagram page @rawshift posted this interesting little clip. With its air suspension jacked up to the max, half a million dollars of luxury blasts down a dirt road in Dukes of Hazzard style.
After that, the Cullinan puts on a show with consecutive donuts on the grass, in the classic Tax the Rich style. Unfortunately, this isn't their video, even though the Rolls-Royce Rally Car is their original idea.
Of course, there are many other SUVs that can perform this, like the Lamborghini Urus, which we saw doing snow donuts only a day ago. Hopefully, that won't ruin your excitement. Also, you could do this with a lot of pickup-based SUVs quite easily.
But that doesn't detract from how awesome the Cullinan can be, even though the SUV segment is flooded with super-powerful and impressive models. You've got the Lamborghini or SUVs, the Bentley of SUVs plus all those pesky Germans that have been getting better at the game.
It's certainly unique, with its old-fashioned hand-made elements and traditional Rolls-Royce grille. However, for a thing that starts from $350,000, we don't find it all that desirable. The company applied its classic design elements to a model it never made before.
So the doors look like they've been squeezed together while the front end makes even the Bentayga look good. Still, it has a 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine and is made from a lot of aluminum. It's the Rolls-Royce you can take down an Aspen slope or up a Colorado canyon. It's your choice!
