The newest addition to the Rolls Royce range, the 200EX, will make its homeland debut at Salon Prive, set to open its doors at London’s Hurlingham Club, starting July 22. The event will also mark the first public display of the 200EX in Europe, after the official unveiling at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show. Attending the London Salon Prive is just the beginning of a six stops limited world tour.
“We’re honoured to be chosen to host the 200EX UK public debut and to be one of the few worldwide venues on the 200EX global tour. Rolls-Royce evidently sees merit in the audience that Salon Privé delivers,” David Bagley, Salon Privé co-founder said in a release.
If you don't know already, when the 200EX will finally get here, it will come equipped with a newly-developed 6.6l turbocharged V12 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic ZF gearbox. The unit will develop a staggering 500 hp.
There is still some time before the production version 200EX gets here, but both Rolls Royce and the organizers of the Salon Prive say July's event is the best way to preview the "inspiration" behind the project, as design project leader Alan Sheppard "will be on hand to offer visitors a unique insight into the process of designing a modern Rolls-Royce."
The Salon Prive is expected to be the biggest to date, with "unprecedented number of super and luxury car debuts and an extensive Concours d’ Elégance." Most of those who will attend will most surely detail their presence at the Salon, as the opening date draws closer.
