Roger Federer Talks About Being the Best in 2016 Mercedes-AMG GLE63 Coupe Ad

Mercedes claims the Swiss professional tennis player declared his intention to one day drive a Mercedes-Benz years before he even had a driver’s license. If that wasn’t enough, the fact Roger Federer is currently ranked world No. 2 by the Association of Tennis Professionals sure qualifies the 33-year-old sportsman as the best choice to promote their new crossover coupe.

Promised as BMW’s first serious competitor, the Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S is packed with some top-notch amenities. These same features are supposed to be somehow pushing the limits of the technology current autos have, similar to how sportsmen push themselves to be the best. “When you’ve been at the top of the game for so long, how do you stay there?” the commercial starts.

Pushing yourselves further than others are willing to, that’s pretty much the message here. Translation? The AMG performance exhaust system, 22’’ light-alloy wheels and five dynamic select drive modes, all make for these innovations, according to Mercedes. The list then continues with AMG’s Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic Transmission and the active curve system.

Mercedes claims they are setting standards that will be followed by generations, but we can’t quite figure out which are those unique standards. As far as we know, there are plenty of competitors on the market that have similar enhancements. Yes, we know, it’s just marketing.

The list of features the 2016 Mercedes-AMG GLE63 Coupe S is offering then completes with the bespoke interior. Bang and Olufsen Beosound, 3-Spoke Flat Bottom Performance Steering Wheel and AMG Sport Seats with Nappa leather upholstery is what buyers will find inside.

We'll leave you discover the rest. As for Federer, you'd better get used to him since he is a Mercedes-Benz Ambassador.
