Roewe Unveils New Sedan Based on Buick LaCrosse in Beijing

Despite having a rather large parts bin to rummage around in from the now defunct Rover brand, Roewe have opted to ask for GM’s help in the creation of their new sedan to sit at the top of their range. The Roewe 950 uses much of the running gear and chassis of the latest Buick LaCrosse and there are also similarities in terms of design cues and proportions - if one was inclined to compare the two, which is unlikely.

The car will be powered by a trio of petrol engines: 2.0-liter and 145 hp, 2.4-liter and 184 hp, with the range topping out with a 255 hp 3.0-liter V6.

The manufacturer has made no claims to sell the car outside China. If they do decide to sell it elsewhere, it needs to be extremely keenly priced in order to tempt buyers away from their traditional brands.
