Roehr 1250sc Gets Certified by CARB

Roehr Motorcycles announced that its 1250sc machine has been certified by the California Air Research Board (CARB) for sale in California. The announcement follows the EPA 49 state certificate granted earlier this year.

"It's been a long process but we are now finally able to deliver bikes to our California customers. I'm sure they will agree with our 49 state customers, that it was well worth the wait,"
states Walter Roehrich, company president, in a release.

The Roehr 1250sc is considered to be one of the fastest and most powerful American made production sportsbike, boosted by a 180 horsepower 1250cc supercharged Harley Davidson Revolution engine.

The engine was developed by Harley-Davidson in cooperation with Porsche AG, based on the VR1000 superbike engine. Roehr Motorcycles has applied its Roehr Supercharging System (RSS) technology to enhance this engine's power output.

RSS is designed to provide boost upon rider demand. A special bypass valve is employed to recirculate unneeded air back into the compressor during certain operating ranges such as idle, cruise and deceleration.

Under acceleration the bypass valve closes allowing compressor air to pressurize the intake plenum. The Rotrex supercharger delivers air in proportion to it's driven speed. As engine speed increases the supercharger air output increases proportionally.

Except for the engine, the Roehr 1250sc boasts high-spec running gear, such as Ohlins suspension, Marchesini alloy wheels, Brembo brakes with radial mount calipers at the front and composite bodywork.
