The Scirocco is one of the oldest models still offered by the Volkswagen people, right up there with the CC. We have no problem with that fact, but rumors have it that it and the Beetle will kick the bucket soon.
We hope not. But considering all the concepts VW has been showing over the past two years have been SUVs, we're not holding our breath.

As much as the CEOs and CFOs are ignoring the Scirocco, the tuners are still in love with it. A few days ago, we showed you one from China that looked sick, and now we have a slightly simpler yet equally interesting conversion from Ingo Noak.

The Rocket Bunny name belongs to the Japanese, but this is pretty much the same thing: massive fender flares that bolt directly onto the factory ones. When we see that on a Ferrari or Lamborghini, it's painful on the eyes. But the Scirocco is old and probably costs under €10,000 on the second-hand market.

Ingo has previously built a twin sister for this wide-bodied 'Rocco, a Golf GTI. We have photos of the second such car in the gallery below which, predictably, has been fitted with the exhaust system and the front bumper of the Golf R. We'd do the same if we had a Mk6.

Chin spoilers, side skirts, and a diffuser are features that can be expected on most tuning projects. The lowered suspension is accompanied by new wheels, which consist of an unidentifiable red set on the coupe and concave Vossen CVTs on the GTI.

Until the GTI Meet starts featuring only Tiguans, we'll continue to love the Scirocco and Golf GTI projects that think outside the box, like this one. If you are interested in these cars, know that they will be presented at the Tuning World Bodensee 2016 at the beginning of May.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
