For 20 years, the Life Ball has been a partner of the worldwide battle against HIV and AIDS. MINI joined the battle and became its official partner in 2001. This year, the event that will take place on the Rathausplatz, in front of Vienna’s City Hall, will be offering for auction a MINI Paceman designed by none other than Roberto Cavalli.
Many other work-class designers created special MINIs before, among them Donatella Versace, Renzo Rosso, Angela Missoni and Diane von Furstenberg. All of the unique MINIs were auctioned in order to raise money for the HIV and AIDS cause.
“Designing the MINI was a very fun, exciting and stimulating experience. I had to create a car which not only respected and conveyed my fashion, but also my lifestyle: an unusual challenge, but surely a fascinating one”, said Cavalli about his recent creation.
Roberto’s unconventional fashion style and his traditional values will be mixed with modern diversity to create a truly one-of-a-kind Paceman. Over the past years, sums of up to €500,000 ($650,000) have been raised, and this year, organizers hope to raise the bar even further.
