Roberto Cavalli Creates Golden MINI Paceman

We're pretty sure a lot of people would have liked a golden MINI. In fact, we could argue that the copper colors used by the Steampunk Countryman by Carlex somewhat fit the bill.

But this one, created by MINI in partnership with fashion designed Roverto Cavalli, really is golden. Looking like the mating between an expensive pair of sunglasses and a piece of jewelry, it was built as a donation for the Life Ball AIDS charity event where it went on auction.

The paintjob is the first thing that's special about the Paceman. It's a special shade used on Cavalli's other cars which shimmers between black and brown because of its deep luster.

The roof, wheels and mirror shells are all painted gold and the same can be said about some of the trim. It looks so expensive that you can't help wonder what it would cost on the black market.

The interior is just as special, featuring boack leather all over with a quilted design covering the seat centers. Cavalli chose alligator leather for the steering wheel. Gold is also present inside, on various trim pieces for the speedo, air vents and instruments.
