The first months of the year are always a good time to auction off cars, and an equally good time to buy them. Fresh out of the celebratory mood, car enthusiasts always use the first few months of a new year to update their garages.
Next moth, one of the first big auctions to be held by Bonhams is the one at the Scottsdale Car Week on January 17. With a little more than a month left, the auction house decided to let collectors know what they’ll be able to buy there.
Of course, the lot will be quite extensive, comprising more than enough cars to please most of those attending. From the crowd of machines, there are of course a few car models that stand out.
The first is a 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV, a car that has been in the same ownership for over 45 years. Despite the long time spent with one owner, the model has only 18,300 miles on the odometer. What’s more important is that this car is one of only 13 ever built for the U.S. market.
Second in line is a 1963 Porsche 356 Carrera 2 GS Cabriolet, one of only 32 ever built. Having spent 30 years with the same owner, the car is now heading for the auction block with an unspecified mileage.
For those in the market for a celebrity-owned car, a 1964 Porsche 904 GTS once owned by actor and director Robert Redford is also going under the hammer.
This car is race-bred, having seen action under the Otto Zipper Precision Motor Car colors back in its day.
The model comes with the original bodywork, chassis, transaxle, and suspension, as well as with engine no. 99001, a Type 587/3 Carrera motor.
Bonhams did not say how much it hopes to fetch for the above-mentioned cars. More details about Robert Redford’s car can be found in the document attached below.
