When Robert De Niro says a certain project has priority over anything else he’s working on, you know we’re all going to enjoy an epic motion picture. And when that project happens to be the upcoming Enzo Ferrari bio movie, our ticket money is prepared.
De Niro recently talked to Italian newspaper Il Messagero, explaining why he wants to bring Enzo back among us. "For me it is an honour and a joy to tell the life of an extraordinary man who revolutionized the automotive world and across historical periods and different social, from fascism to democracy, from war to economic well-being," the famous actor said.

Truth be told, all Enzo cared about was racing. For the man who gave us the Prancing Horse, selling road cars to customers was just as much of a compromise as having to spend time dealing with political issues. It was this burning passion that kept him alive until the age of 90 (he passed away in 1988).

The motion picture will be produced by Gianni Bozzachi, an Italian name that’s been known all over Hollywood for years. Bozzachi’s Triworld Cinema has already reached an agreement with De Niro’s company, Tribeca Entreprises.

"The film will be titled Ferrari and will be based on an epic story," said Bozzacchi, "It will have a high budget and will cover a wide span – from 1945 to the eighties in a twisted game of eras and episodes.

Speaking of the calendar, we’ll remind you Enzo’s Scuderia Ferrari motorsport crew hit the track as early as 1929 with Alfa Romeo racecars/ He founded the road car manufacturer back in 1947.

The fact that Bozzachi approached Clint Eastwood to direct the movie shouldn’t come as a surprise. Who wouldn’t want to work with Eastwood when he’s known for sticking to both the budget and the schedule?

The producer said Eastwood showed interest in the project, but is waiting to read the script.

Actually, De Niro playing Enzo Ferrari isn’t a surprise either, as rumours about the New York-born actor taking such a role lying around since over a decade ago.

Then again, we’re not here for surprises. We’re here to enjoy a great motion picture, one that should reach theaters next year.
