If you are a fan of crazy things which can be done using a motorcycle then this is not the first time when you hear the name of Robbie Maddo Maddison. Some say he’s a modern-day Evel Knievel, but he’s not that interest in being compared with the iconic stunt rider. Instead Robbie Maddison is committed to redefining motorcycle stunts by taking crazy to the next level.
And if riding your supermoto machine up a bobsleigh track is not thrilling enough, you should learn that this was only the fastest way to get atop of the mountain. That is, one of the tall hills in the Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah, which he chose as the scenario for his new breathtaking performance.

Wuthering heights? No problem, let’s jump!

To some, even watching skiers jump from a ramp is enough to give them headaches, and I am not talking about those who are afraid of heights… It looks like the backflip over the Tower Bridge in London was no longer enough so jumping off a ski ramp seemed the next step.

Maddo rode his machine at 71 mph (114 km/h) down the ramp and flew for 374 feet (114 meters). Not exactly enough for an Olympic record or so, definitely. However, looking closer at his impressive jump, it looks like he definitely needs a much bigger hill, as his bike can do so much more. However, the landing slope has to provide enough room, as landing on flat ground can be exceedingly rough and put the bike to so much stress that it could break.

As for landing on an upward slope, this is only marginally different from riding full-speed into a wall, Clearly a scenario I don’t even want to consider.

However, the most awesome detail of Robbie Maddison’s ski ramp jump is the world record for the drop. The dropped 187 feet (57 meters), which is more or less an 18 ½ story height. And next time you get out of your house, just look up a building and imagine yourself on a bike at the 8th floor and the sight in front of your eyes…
