It's always nice to descend into the Porsche-buying communities hidden in the depths of the world wide web and see what those good people are planning. More often than not, you'll be treated to good news, as is the case with the video below.
The clip sees one of our favorite supercar collectors, Rob Ferretti, talking about his vehicle-purchasing wishes. And since it's a little late to consider sending Santa a wish, the aficionado talks about what kind of adventures he plans to engage in next year.
Rob is aiming to grab the upcoming Porsche 911 GT3, the one we know Porsche will offer with a six-speed manual. And when this idea is launched from the driver's seat of his 997-generation GT3, we can only applaud it.
Given the fact that we've already seen the car in almost auto show floor-worthy form and that Zuffenahsuen has talked about the imminent debut of the 991.2-generation GT3, we should see the machine soon, but don't mention the name of the Detroit Auto Show - Porsche announced it's skipping the 2017 edition of the event, remember?
For one thing, Porsche used to Los Angeles Auto Show to unveil the new 911 RSR. Mid-engine schism aside, the new RSR will share its 4.0-liter flat-six with the upcoming GT3.
The unit, which actually made its debut on the 911 GT3 R racecar, delivers between 485 and 510 hp when following motorsport rules, which should offer us a pretty good hint on what the powerplant will be able to do when occupying the rear section of the upcoming GT3 street car.
Oh, and for those of you who will manage to take the game mentioned in this story to an even higher level and go for 991.2 GT3 RS, you should know the motor will also animate this member of the Neunelfer line-up.
