We don't condone with street violence generated by traffic incidents, but this video has a very strong educational message for the riders. When confronted, never take that helmet off unless keeping it on poses severe risks somehow.
What's good enough to protect a rider's head against impacts with the asphalt, other vehicles and obstacles is also equally efficient in shielding the cranium and face against fists and even baseball bats. So there's really no point is giving away such a critical piece of personal armor when the going is about to get tough.

Now, we don't know who is the guilty road used in the video below. The recording only begins after the rider starts to tailgate the SUV driver and follows him off the main road.

The fellow who uploaded the video mentions that the rider had been "passing people on either side of the road earlier", which in our book translates to slaloming in and out of traffic. Some of these fellows, drivers and riders alike, would even become angry and might want to start a brawl, even though they are the ones to blame. That's a perfect representation of the old Latin "primus inter pares" saying. This stands for being the "first among equals" and we're sure you've all met such chaps already.

Well, the problem is that after the rider assaulted the SUV driver in his car, the latter produced a baseball bat and was not at all shy to use it. And here's where the helmet came in exceptionally handy...
