You reap what you sow: a woman from Newcastle, U.K., tried to smash the windshield of a car with her shoe and ended up getting dragged by it, while a man who came to her help was violently rammed by the same car.
This happened in the Biggs Market Area in Newcastle City Center, U.K., in plain view of various people. As you can see from the footage available at the bottom of the page, not one of those eyewitnesses seemed too concerned about what was happening or, for that matter, did much to come to the assistance of any of the parties involved. They did, however, record video of the whole thing.
As these things go, the video made its way on social media. It doesn’t offer context for what the Daily Mail dubs a shocking “road rage” altercation, as it begins when the woman is already removing her shoe. She is about to attack the black Ford Focus stopped in the middle of the road, trying to break the windshield by hitting it with the shoe.
Needless to say, her 6 blows hardly leave a trace. Even so, her violent attack is enough to get the driver furious: at one point, two men jump into the vehicle, which accelerates, dragging the woman on the road. When she finally lets go of the door, a knight in shining armor comes to her help, only to get the worst of the driver’s anger.
The Good Samaritan pulls the woman to safety and then stands on the pavement, thinking the matter is over. The driver of the Focus has another thing on his mind, so he reverses and then accelerates forward, in what is an obvious attempt to run the man over. He seems to realize it, too, so he makes a dash for the pavement on the opposite side, and is hit dead-on and thrown in the air.
The video cuts before we can tell if he was badly hurt or whether the car sped away right after.
“A spokesman for Northumbria Police [said] the incident took place at 9pm and nobody has been arrested at the moment,” the Mail writes. “We are aware of the incident and it is being investigated,” said the spokesman.
